Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive at Florida Hemp Distribution and through our vendor Crystal Creek Organics.
Cannabidiol, known more commonly by the acronym CBD, is a cannabinoid compound found naturally in cannabis plants. CBD is one of the major cannabinoids, although there have been over 100 cannabinoids isolated to date. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol, known more commonly by the acronym THC, CBD does not produce any psychoactive or psychotropic effects and will not get you “high.” Numerous peer-reviewed scientific studies highlight the therapeutic potential of CBD.
The CBD that we source for all Crystal Creek products is extracted from 100% industrial hemp with negligible amounts of THC — less than the 0.3% necessary to meet legal requirements. All of our CBD is third-party lab tested to ensure we meet these requirements.
No, you will not get “high” from CBD as it has no psychoactive or psychotropic effects and there is no THC in our products.
No, you do not need a prescription or medical card to order CBD. Anyone over the age of 18 may order our products unless otherwise prohibited by laws or ordinances in your area.
Terpenes and terpenoids are a hugely diverse class of organic compounds produced by plants and other organisms. The terms terpenes and terpenoids are often used interchangeably, even though technically terpenes are hydrocarbons while terpenoids contain additional organic functional groups. Terpenes are the compounds and primary constituents found in essential oils that provide each plant with its unique aromatic smell, taste and various characteristics. The differing ratios of these terpenes in each plant are a major factor that distinguishes one cannabis strain from another. This ratio is what is meant by the “terpene profile” of a particular strain or plant. Many terpenes have their own uses and are widely believed to have beneficial properties.
Here is a list of common terpenes found in various cannabis plants:
Alpha-Bisabolol, Alpha-Phellandrene, Alpha-Pinene, Beta-Caryophyllene, Beta-Pinene, Cadinene, Camphene, Camphor, Citral, Citronellol, Delta-3-Carene, Eucalyptol, Eugenol, Gamma-Terpinene, Geraniol, Humulene, Limonene, Linalool, Myrcene, Nerol, Nerolidol, Ocimene, Para-Cymene, Phytol, Pulegone, Terpineol, Terpinolene, Valencene
Our products always contain less than the legal limit of 0.3% THC. The majority of drug tests use a detection threshold that must be met in order for a result to be considered positive for a particular substance or metabolite of the substance. This testing threshold is usually not meant to find negligible traces of THC. HOWEVER, our stance is that if you may be drug tested soon or take regular drug tests, then you should not consume any cannabinoids in general including CBD.
Crystal Creek Organics makes no medical claims about the CBD that we sell. Our CBD is meant to be used as a complement to your lifestyle. Remember to never disregard the advice given by your health care provider or your physician in general.
Yes, our products are Non-GMO.
No, the light pink color does not mean your product did went bad. Exposure of the MCT oil in your product to oxygen causes this color change. Coconut oil is composed mostly of saturated medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), a.k.a saturated fatty acids, but also contains polyphenolic antioxidants. These antioxidants in the oil can turn pink upon exposure to oxygen.
No, our vapes do not contain any added medium chain triglycerides (MCT), propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG) or polypropylene glycol 400.
MCT is an acronym for oils only composed of medium-chain triglycerides. Oils are composed of triglycerides distinguished by the length of their carbon chain fatty acids. Fatty acids that contain between 6 and 12 carbons are considered of medium length and, hence, are known as medium-chain triglycerides. The MCT oil that we use in our sublinguals are fractionated from organic coconut oil.
The CBD that we source is extracted from domestic hemp that is non-GMO and organically grown using a CO2 critical extraction method.
Hemp oil is usually obtained by processing and pressing hemp seeds. Hemp oil is high in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which are considered very nutritional. However, hemp oil usually contains negligible amounts of CBD, and hemp oil purchased from stores will typically not contain any CBD. We infuse our hemp oil with CBD to provide a nutritionally rich source of essential fatty acids with a high concentration of CBD.
CBD products stay fresh and are typically good for at least six months. To ensure the highest quality and maintain freshness, do not leave the product exposed to direct sunlight or in high temperatures (e.g. in a hot car or on a sunny windowsill) for prolonged periods of time. Like most natural, plant-based products, direct exposure to UV light for an extended period can decrease both the shelf life and the flavor.
Yes, our CBD is tested and verified by independent third-party labs to ensure the purity and safety of our products. The labs test for the percentage of CBD and to verify the absence of pesticides, heavy metals, and THC.
Orders placed Monday through Friday typically ship within 24 hours. Orders placed during the weekend will be shipped as soon as we reopen on Monday.
